Kong Charly: monkey sculpture carved from a vine stock, chrome effect

A baby chimpanzee born from an old Châteauneuf-du-Pape vine stock. Kong Charly is a monkey sculpture in vine wood, covered in chrome-effect paint, a one-of-a-kind piece 26 cm tall, created by Arson Sculptures, a French sculptor based in Drôme provençale.

A vine stock turned baby chimpanzee

The wood comes from a Côtes du Rhône vine, from Châteauneuf-du-Pape to be precise: gnarled wood, twisted by years of sun and mistral wind. In its curves, the artist found a little monkey, and brought it to life. Every detail catches the liveliness and curiosity of the young primate, its mischievous look, that urge to grab everything.

A wooden monkey sculpture, dressed in chrome

The chrome-effect paint turns raw wood into a precious, contemporary object. The contrast is delicious: under the modern mirror, you can still sense the memory of the vine. Kong Charly is tender and chic, rustic and pop, all at once.

Where to place it

On a shelf, a console, a desk or in a wine cellar, Kong Charly brings a touch of charm and humour. It is also an original gift for a lover of wine, nature or contemporary art.
