An extraordinary novel, a social thriller, to be adapted for the cinema!

Updated: Jul 16

On the Heart: A Thriller Made for Screens, as a Series or Film.

On the Heart by Yves Rovere (the sculptor Arson) is a novel designed to captivate moviegoers, whether as a series or a film, thanks to its choral intrigue and breathless suspense.

An extraordinary novel, a social thriller, to be adapted for the cinema!

For a Series

An extraordinary novel, this psychological thriller is perfectly suited for a gripping series in the style of The Undoing or This Is Us. Each episode would weave the intertwined destinies of complex characters, navigating a world where fragile love and redemption clash with a society in crisis. Intimate direction, razor-sharp dialogue, and a haunting soundtrack would amplify gripping scenes, from dramatic confrontations to desperate escapes. A showrunner like Shonda Rhimes or Lisa Joy could transform this narrative into a riveting drama, spotlighting its bold societal critique.

For a Film

The Heart would shine as a pulse-pounding psychological thriller, anchored by a climactic turning point. A stark, realistic aesthetic—blending shadowy tones with glimmers of hope—would mirror the novel’s brutal yet hopeful world. A stellar cast—Tahar Rahim, Adèle Exarchopoulos, or Vincent Cassel—would bring these tormented souls to life, under the direction of a filmmaker like Denis Villeneuve, a master of tense narratives. With its compelling story and sharp take on our times, The Heart is crafted to dazzle on Netflix, Canal+, or in theaters, captivating global audiences with its intensity. Summary: In the novel "On the Heart",

Yves Rovere offers us a poignant novel, where the intimacy of feelings collides with the complexity of human relationships. Through powerful and immersive writing, the author explores the flaws and hopes of deeply endearing characters, bound by secrets, regrets, and, above all, by that heart that sometimes unites, sometimes tears apart.

Whether it's a story of love, redemption, or a quest for self, Yves Rovere subtly handles emotions, inviting the reader to question their own fragility. A memorable read, between gentleness and intensity. This powerful detective novel is a " psychological novel," as much as it is philosophical and sociological, with breathtaking suspense.

On the heart is a crime novel with incredible suspense.
A deeply moving story.

This novel is a journey among today's humans,

in their presents, jostled by daily necessities, cramped in the space left to them by a world that has become uncontrolled. This first novel was born from the feeling that for about forty years, humans have no longer been at the center of political issues as they were at the end of the Second World War. They have become a monetary value, a value of profitability, a consumer. The primary values of exchange and solidarity are replaced by laws and organizations, supposed to correct the abandonment and selfishness that the law of the market (labor or financial) exacerbates, but by aggravating loneliness, to the point that our leaders invent the neighborhood party, the music festival and a whole bunch of entertainment, like football, the supreme indicator of the moral state of the country. The need for overconsumption for the system to stand up, induces individual criminal behavior and leads to an increasingly violent society.

A cry from the heart. A present-day reality, this triller, a novel of suspense, speaks of us and the world today, examining society in all its spectres with a scalpel.

Why should I read this book? Make me want to.

It's a pleasant and easy read for a well-crafted and very original story. It deserves a TV adaptation, which would be a change from the rubbish on FR3. Bravo!

Préambule du roman Sur le coeur d'Yves Rovere

" When fathers get used to letting their children do as they please, when sons no longer take their word into account, when teachers tremble before their pupils and prefer to flatter them, when finally young people despise the laws because they no longer recognize the authority of anything or anyone above them, then there lies, in all its beauty and youth, the beginning of tyranny."

We are in this time that Plato describes and this partly explains what follows.
