The 4-meter-tall Plank Tree is a contemporary sculpture in the form of a cry of alarm, an artistic warning from the contemporary French sculptor Arson. This work denounces the greed of humankind, willing to do anything for greater profit, by imagining a world where the exploitation of natural resources is pushed to the extreme. In this dystopian vision, humankind has invented a square tree to facilitate its exploitation and maximize profits. The square trunk of the tree becomes beams, the branches are transformed directly into planks, thus avoiding any additional labor. The Plank Tree is a work that invites reflection on our relationship with nature and the impact of our actions on the environment.
